What is offered may be taken; what is refused is not pressed.
A principle of consent, and the one the Code keeps most rigorously of all. Food, drink, company, or intimacy may be offered between keepers.
The reply is honoured without further question. Pressure has no place at a keeper's table. A keeper who forgets that does not stay a keeper for long.
